General Arrangement

The set will be consisting of the following : H.T. Transformer, Control Circuit, test Cell with electrode, guage and supply input cable of at least 2 meters length with 3 pin plug. The set is in single unit. Instruction mannual with circuit will be supplied along with the set.

H.V. Transformer

H.V. transformer use din the test set is double wound Resin-Cast High Voltage Transformer. The H.V. winding of the high voltage testing transformer is of graded insulation with center point of H.V. winding grounded. This testing transformer is specially designed to withstand frequent spark over or momentary short circuit conditions under which such testing transformer are supposed to operate.

Protection : Beside main switch and fuse in the input side. one "ON" and one "OFF" push button switch along with C.T. and conductor provides a snap acting automatic tripping of H.V. circuit in case of overloaded or breakdown of oil sample under test.

Over Voltage Indication : Over voltage indication lamp and alarm is provided for motor operated Sets.

Over Voltage Protection : For motorised sets, over voltage protection is provided.

Metering : 96 SQ. MM. Ac moving iron type voltmeter connected to the L.T. side and scaled in KV.

Mode of Operation : Sets will be available either in manual or in motor operated mode. In motor moderated sets, the regulators are adjusted at approximately 2KV/sec. rate of rise of voltage.

Test Cell : The test vessel (Oil Cell) fitted with two brass spheres of diameter between 12.5 to 13 mm, placed at a distance of 4 mm or 2.5 mm. The test vessel made from non-absorbent insulating material. Gap of the spheres can be adjusted by adjusting one sphere while the other being fixed. Dimensions are generally as per IS 6792 : 1992. A gauge is provided along with the cell to adjust the gap.

Test Set Housing :  The set is in single unit. All the components are housed within a nicely painted M.S. cabinet provided with wheels, M.S. buffer and handles fore easy movement. A transparent cutout with suitable interlocking devices provided for covering the H.T. side. The set will not get energised unless this H.T. end is covered. The oil cell is to be placed between the HV terminals.

Safely Measures : Zero start interlocking is provided to ensure that the H.V. Circuit cannot be energized unless the regulating transformer is at Zero position or brought back to zero position after each test, A transparent cutout with suitable interlocking device is provided for covering the H.T. side. The set will not get energised unless the H.T. end is covered.

Memory Switch : Memory device along with push button switch enables the test set meter to show the breakdown voltage by pressing the memory switch even after the high voltage circuit is tripped OFF>

Description

  • The Control & loading transformer unit is made by nicely painted sturdy M.S.Steel. The panel consist of : Mains "ON/OFF" switch indicating lamps to indicate "ON". Variable auto transformer for smooth & continuous variation of output voltage. Fully automatic Star-Delta Switch. Start-Stop Push buttons.
     

  •  3 phases scuriel cage motor & sleepring motor coupled with each other are mounted on a M.S. Channel frame.
     

  • Control Circuit, Supply Input cable, Earthing terminal, Instructional manual with circuit diagram will be supplied along with the set.

Loading Transformer

One loading transformer of suitable capacity used in the test set is for output voltage along with different selectable voltage tappings.

Protection

  • HRC FUSES in incoming side.

  • Automatic Tripping Mechanism for protecting the H.V. Section against overload as well as short circuit.

  • Phase failure protection circuit is provided.

Metering

One volt meter is provided to measure the input voltage. One P.T. operated volt meter is provided to measure the output voltage. Three ammeters are provided to indicate individual output phase current, one frequency meter is provided to indicate input and output frequency.

Safety Measures

Zero start interlocking is provided to ensure that the H.V. circuit cannot be energised unless the variable autotransformer is at zero position or brought back to Zero Position.
